The struggle is real for youth aging out of foster care. Extensive data collection and evaluation activities demonstrate the positive difference Aftercare makes.

The Iowa Aftercare Services Network (IASN) is committed to providing effective, quality services to young people who are transitioning from foster care to adulthood. The Child Welfare Research and Training Project (CWRTP) leads the quality assurance and evaluation efforts of the Network, working closely with IASN agencies and the Department of Human Services to collect and analyze data, assess effectiveness and report outcomes.

Outcomes Reports

These annual reports include trend information from intake interviews, demographic and other characteristics of all participants served by the Network each year; and outcomes of participants who exit services during the year.

Satisfaction Surveys

Gathering feedback directly from young people is among the Network’s most important and useful annual data collection activities. The input from participants is used to improve the Aftercare program, as well as to inform policies affecting all youth transitioning from foster care to adulthood.

Aftercare has been a great experience for me! My advocate is the best social worker I’ve had since being in foster care when I was 14.
